How many of these cases actually have been prosecuted?
I think the internet is really a gray area because it
is so hard to prove origin for images and it's unclear
what is an original work and what is a mere copy. You
can make a claim of illegality, but no one is going to
take your case, and a law that is not enforceable is not
much of a law at all.
