Yes, the glass might not be acid-free and it might not give protection from UV rays. You can purchase acid free (another name is archival) acetate sheets at larger art stores to "sandwich" your cel between so it doesn't come in direct contact with the glass, just to be safe. You can also buy glass that's coated with a UV protection film, like eye-glasses are, but I'm not sure where you can get this glass or the price. I use the acetate sheets, but not the UV protection when I frame, but I do keep my framed cels in a darkened hallway. If you can't find the acetate sheets anywhere and you only need a couple, I can sell you some of mine, plus postage. Hope this helps. Noriko |
