Okay I think it's about time to give up on cel collecting
at least for me.  Today Anime-Taro posted a $1,177.00 cel.

And that wasn't the only one they posted a couple of others
that were over $1000.00

They are OMG cels and the $1,177.00 cel doesn't even have
the matching background but it does have a background.

I know OMG is a popular series but these are from the TV
series... there are something like 26 episodes a season so
there have to be thousands and thousands of cels from that
series.  The price seems a bit extreme with these good cels
being much more common than they would be in a short OVA 
series.

I've watched prices on cels rise over the past three years
but this one still shocked me.  Even so I'm sure someone
somewhere will be willing to pay a thousand dollars a cel.

I just wonder how long it will be before people start faking
them... after all if all they need is some paint and and a
sheet of plastic it seems likely that someone will become
a junior artist if they can get hundreds of dollars for a
cel they claim is an original.
