Well, I wasn't that impressed with the Lodoss TV Series.
(I bought the 1st LD- 3 episodes for the LD box mainly ^_^;)
The opening song is nice, and I've started to like the ending
song too-- it's a bit different.
The anime is okay, but I miss the Deedlit from the OVAs.
She's voiced by someone different (reminds me of Doris O'Connor's
seiyuu from Marmalade Boy), which makes her sound "older".
Deedlit seems to be much calmer now-- she doesn't seem to get
angry/fed-up as easily as in the OVAs. To me, she's missing
her "personality" that I liked so much in the OVAs.
Since I've only seen 3 episodes, it probably gets a little
better later on. I haven't seen the new characters introduced
yet. But Leaf looks cute--
The animation isn't as good as the OVA, but it's still nice.
Naturally it's a TV series, so we can't expect it to match an
OVA. Prices for cels from the TV series are quite high-- which
makes many of the OVA cels seem like a better value. Of course,
you would have better luck finding those OVA cels from a dealer
who's NOT online.
As for BGC 2040- it's neat-- to me it reminds me of You're Under
Arrest a bit with the characters (although everyone says "El-
Hazard" when they point to the Ifurita look-alike). Of course,
this comes from someone who never really liked the original BGC.
