And what are these so-called professional pencil removers anyway? They were artists for Disney. -_^ Professional animators who sometimes have to unstick cels. I don't think they specifically got paid for unsticking cels. I thought that these days Disney doesn't even give pencils because they're all repos anyway. Anyone who knows how to paint a cel who has a pencil sketch can make a pretty-near perfect copy of the cel. Think about it. If it's coming off easily, unlike before, there must be some change in something taking place... Yes, there is a change in the consistancy of the paint as it is heated. While heated, it becomes softer and more pliant. Less like hardened glue. Still, one day I've got to try it with one of my junk cels... (just like the one I've decided to let sunbathe...) Go right ahead. As I said before, anytime you do something like this to a cel, you are taking a risk. I just know that there are people out there who are /going/ to try to separate stuck cels from pencil sketches, and this way of doing it is more likely to work without destroying both cel and pencil sketch than just ripping them apart. ^_^ The most advisable thing is to just leave well enough alone if you have a stuck cel, but if you are going to attempt to separate cels and paper, doing it slowly, carefully and with a very gentle hand is the most important thing. If you find yourself becoming frustrated, just set it down and wait a while. It'll be there later. ;) Ryochan |
