I hope you are not turned off to the hobby because of one rotten
fruit. Cel collecting is a very unique hobby that center around
a very unique medium. The key to not being taken in is to be
a sceptical buyer. Don't buy it if you don't know.

Did you send the cel insured? Do you have a tracking number on the cel?
Try to get the cel tracked  down to have sent back to you. I'd 
also begin sending some serious email to the person you 
tried to trade with. Scare the pants off of them if you have to
in order to get that cel back. I know Ukyo cels can be pricey,
and not to mention hard to find!
