Actually cable is the current thing that is spreading throuout
North America. There are other forms of rapid data transfer
available, but they are not widly spread and are currently much
more expensive.
Cable has been recently made affordable to the
general public and is promoted as such. The lines are shared
with the local phone companies. Though there have been disputes
and court battles over this line sharing, the courts have ordered
these lines to be public domain.
Anyways, cable is what's currently available to the consumer and
is what will be available in the near future to areas that it
hasn't reached yet. I am just very thankful that I have cable. |
