I'm so glad you got your kitty back!  A few years 
ago my neighbor STOLE my cat out of my yard, and 
gave it to his girlfriend (who lived in the next 
city).  We put up signs in the area, and it took 
him 2 WEEKS to figure out that "gee...maybe it's 
the same cat".  He did bring Peat (my cat) back, 
for which I'm very happy!
