I haven't tried it. but I just bought one that is reasonably priced 
and is doing a really good job; a Canoscan LIDE80.  It works 
better than my last 2 scanners, does not have a blinding light 
and does an exceptional job on colors and resolution. It does 
such a great job, in fact, that I hope to replace the scans in my 
gallery with new ones from the LIDE80.  If you check my URL and 
look at the Inu Yasha, Card Captor Sakura, or Galaxy Angel 
sections, for example, all the scans there are from the new 
scanner.  Good luck on whatever you get!
