... other than by being very short and showing a
lot of images from my collection, each for a
couple of seconds?
I was asked to give a little talk, and I thought
it would be useful to try to clarify the
differences between a layout sketch, a "rough" or
original animator's sketch, a genga, a shuusei or
correction, and a douga. I have revealing
examples of all of these, and some information on
how they all fit into the animating process.
I was interested recently to discover that, in
some cases, there are "revised gengas," in cases
in which the character designer essentially
redraws the genga and sends it back to the studio
animation team. I'll have a couple of examples of
these.
But if I hold it to ten minutes, is that OK?
There is, after all, a second slot set aside later
that morning for unstructured talking, showing,
and trading. |
