Framing cels is a great way to enjoy your cels by
yourself and sharing with friends.
A few remarks. The first we ever went to have
framed, the person wanted to cut the MATCHING
background to make it "more suitable" for
framing. We just about walked out to never
return. Instead we asked for the person that
would actually be doing the work. They had done
other cels before (disney/wb), they understood
the importance of not cutting it.
Make sure the framer knows what you want -- they
have special spacers and such to avoid bg contact
with your cel, protection from the glass, and
light. It is really awesome what they have.
Despite that, keep the cel in a darker place
(away from a lamp and window). Despite the best
glass, it can still cause fading.
Also remember, except for those few who actually
collect cels and watch anime most people could
not tell you what a cel is. Next, I could see a
cel and have no clue who it was, even though I
have watched anime for years. If they went to
research the cel, most of the people that they
would come in contact would easily tell that they
did not own it. Keep a list of your cels with
noticeable characteristics. The cel number,
condition, a picture of it, etc.
Besides, most people that see cels think of it as
work you did or similar. Most cels are sold at
conventions or over the internet (from my
understanding). It is really hard to sell an item
in that limited of a market.
Just my 2 cents
