I just picked up some 12-field cels, and they're
punched. The RISD store doesn't carry un-punched
ones, I suppose because students can't afford to
punch their own when they're doing animation--
it's cheaper to just buy them that way instead of
getting a $300+ punch.
Since I'm a fancel artist (duh) and these cels
will be added to the 6 or 7 varieties of acetate
I already use for cels, I'm thinking this could
cause some problems. I don't do the signature
stamp on all my cels, because sometimes it's too
big (but I still hide my signature or initials
somewhere on it). I have started signing them
all on the paint on the back, but that can be
painted over.
So I'm thinking of writing 'FAN' or 'F.C.'
or 'GBB'(my initials)in the upper-right corner
where the numbers of a cel would normally be just
in case. To make it extra obvious it's not a
sequence cel, because let's face it, people are
stupid.
Does this seem like a good idea? I'm leaning
towards the 'FAN' option, because it seems the
most obvious, but then, 'F.C.' and 'GBB' are a
little more subtle, and they'll be in accordance
with the signature or seal on the front and the
sig on the back. |
