It's a strategy game series consisting of 5 games 
(excluding Langrisser Millenium, which is totally 
different). I think Masaya originally released 
the games for PC-FX and Sega Saturn, and later 
ported Langrisser I, II, IV and V on Playstation. 
It's a great series. You should try it, 
especially IV and V. And you should try to get 
the Playstation versions because the PS version 
has all the enhanced stuff (upgraded battle 
system, better graphics, better music, etc.). 
There is no anime for Langrisser but there are 
some animation cut scenes throughout the games.
