I never expected to see a cel of this character 
from Battle Angel. She doesn't even have a name, 
she's just the 'girl victim'. She appears for one 
sequence, about twenty frames, and that's all. 
But then I saw a note about a new dealer opening 
a site, and I found this cel there. I agonized 
about buying it because this dealer hadn't built 
up a reputation, I wasn't sure if he was 
trustworthy. On top of that, this was late 
December 1999, and while I wasn't really paranoid 
about Y2K, it felt like I would be tempting fate 
if I ordered the cel. But in the end I decided I 
couldn't pass up the opportunity, and the dealer 
turned out to be very nice, and I ended up with a 
cel I can still hardly believe is mine.

But wait, there's more. A year or so later, I 
spotted a sketch on YJ that I thought might match 
a cel I knew was owned by another collector. I 
emailed her to point it out, and then went back 
to doublecheck and look at some other auctions in 
the same category. And one of those other 
auctions had the matching sketch to my cel, in a 
set of random sketches. While I do expect good 
karma to come from helping other collectors out, 
I certainly didn't expect it to come so fast.
