Listen to Tenzink, she's more than right. Where
the term "wishlist cel" comes into play, so often
people expect you to be willing to completely
break your bank and spend anything you can to get
one stupid piece of plastic. . . Or you're
considered to be "not serious". That's a complete
crock!!
It isn't always about what you *can* spend - it's
more about what you *want* to spend and what you
are *comfortable* spending. I have had more than
a few serious wishlist cels come up for me, and
they're not part of my collection because while
it is physically possible for me to withdraw
$1000+ cash from my bank account and still have
well more than that much left, I refuse to do it.
If someone else wants to do that, bully for them,
but I won't. That does NOT mean that I wasn't
serious about those cels - only that I have a
head on my shoulders to know there's better, more
fulfilling and personally rewarding things to do
with my hard-earned savings.
So when I see a dream cel and it's that kind of
grossly expensive, I pass it by - even when it's
an A1End. I go about my business and hope the
next one won't be so hideously priced.
I have no Utena, so intead I'll post a *favorite*
cel that was so cheap it practically made my eyes
fall out. . . Which conveniently shows how I
often feel around other collectors (and some
dealers I could name) when I say things like:
"NO. A person DOES NOT need to be willing to
spend a fortune to be a serious cel collector."
