Panic -- somebody lend me some advice... (Thu Jun 27 07:48:29 2002 )

Ok, I wasn't going to say anything until I knew
exactly what was going on here, but I just need
some consolation here.

First of all, back in March, I ordered a cel from
a new online cel dealer (you pry know which
dealer I speak of, although I wish not to
verbally say who). I found out that the only way
I could possibly pay for the cel would be to wait
on a US money order, which would take about 6
weeks or so, I think. Anyway, the dealer didn't
seem concerned with that and said that they would
wait to receive my payment.

All was cool.

Four months passed from the time I actually
ordered the cel until I received "something" in
the mail from them. I was really excited, and
opened the package quickly.

Only to find the wrong cel in the package.

I didn't think much of the mistake. I
immediately wrote back to tell them of the
mistake, sending a link to the image of the cel
that I had originally ordered and the cel that
they accidently sent to me. They wrote back to
me saying that they had certainly made a mistake
and would like me to send the wrong cel back to
them and that they would send my cel back to me.
I said fine, and sent the wrong cel back to them
via EMS from Japan.

Just today, I was bored and took a look around
the new updates on Rubberslug and saw that an
aquantiance of mine had recently posted a new cel
from one of the main series that I collect from.

Curiously enough, it was the very cel that I had
ordered. I compared the images with the one from
their site and my friend's site and could easily
tell that it was the same cel, plus it seems like
my friend made her own, clearer scan of the cel.

So now what am I left to do? I had been
expecting to have this cel for 4 months or more,
and I find out that because of a mistake that was
made not by me but by the dealer, I will more
than likely not receive what I paid for. Sure,
they will probably refund my money, but what
about the cel that I had intended to purchace? I
feel very cheated and at a complete loss. I had
never purchased from this dealer before, but I
had every faith in them that things would work
out smoothly. Is this just my bad luck or what?
I don't understand it.

Please, I'd love to hear your comments and
whatnot on this topic. Help me to feel somewhat
at ease with this.

Thanks much!
Rekka
