So I was at AX New York (Or AX:EW as some call 
it), and during the ADV panel, Matt Greenfield 
mentions two digital animation peices, those 
being Excel Saga (that we know is digital) and 
Noir.  I was quite surprised by his mentioning of 
noir, and decided to point it out to him 
afterwards, to which he replied... Noir is cg, 
and he obtained that information by talking with 
the director (I think it was the director). Now, 
I found this quite disconcerting, considering the 
number of cels that we see on YJ and other 
places.  The only thing I can postulate is that 
he was only referring to the "Directors Cut" 
footage, which was reanimated after the series 
was over.  Does anyone else have any insight as 
to why he thought this, or if he's possibly right?
