Thanks to my school/work schedule making it very
difficult for package deliveries to coincide with
times when I'm home, I usually end up having to
go pick them up at the post office myself, after
an attempt or two.
Just this past Tuesday, I needed to go pick up a
couple packages, since that's the one afternoon I
get off during the week (or so I thought.. ^^;)
and even though the weather was nasty, I was
determined to pick 'em up..
So, after trudging through the snow to get to
catch the bus, and managing to miss my stop (the
snow was coming down so hard that I couldn't see
the usual landmarks ^^;) I ended up catching a
different stop and walking through the snow to
get to the post office, where I was most pleased
to pick up not one, but two Nick-packages. ^__^;;
(I bought...er...a little too much at his sale.)
As the long story continues...I had to go catch
the bus to head home.. Unfortunately, while the
stop I needed was only about a block and a half
from the post office, it was a block of wading
through wet slush about 4" deep, covered with a
further 3" of snow...which had to be done -in-
the road, since the sidewalk was more than hip-
deep with snow that had been scooped off the
road. e.e; All the while, the snow was still
coming down.. I was just terrified I'd slip and
drop the packages into the mush, but I made it to
the stop unscathed. Unfotunately, with the
snowfall, both packages were still soaked. >.<
I waited around for about ten minutes, when it
just so happened a classmate of mine drove by,
and gave me a ride home, right to my door. ^^;
The conclusion to this horribly long story:
though both packages were dripping wet with all
the snow, thanks to several layers of packaging, -
lots- of tape, and a nice bagging job, the cels
were all safe and sound! ^__^
Nick is the bestest.
One of the cels from that batch:

Oh...and naturally, both classes and work were
canceled for the following two days...not that
I'd have really wanted to make a trip to the post
office at that point. ^.~;; |
