Here goes again... :(
Ok, I don't know this anime. The picture is really
small. So take this very conditionaly. I am not
saying that it is or it isn't a real hanken. It's
just something that I notice :
When doing a production cel, animators use a paper
that has the size of the cel with lines that show
which area exactly will be visible on the screen.
That's why you often see cels that are not fully
painted even if there is the black lines.
When you do an hanken cel, you may more or less
know for what produce it will be used and perhaps
what will be the final layout. But even if they
have an idee, it is subject to change. In fact, if
you see a picure used on a CD cover and then see
the same picture in an art-book, it probably won't
be arranged in the same way. Differant parts may
be visible or not. And so on...
For that reason, when you do an hanken, you can't
really leave some parts unpainted, assuming that
they will never have to be visible.
On the scan of the cel, the top of his hairs seems
to have been cut off. Like if they didn't bothered
to finish painting that little part.
I would say that they wouldn't do something like
that with an hanken cel : Even if they know that
there will be some text or other, on the final
produce, hiding the top of his hairs, it's far
easier to finish painting them than to have to
redo the whole hanken later because there was
changes in the design...
But then everything may happen so... It's
absolutly not a statement from me. It's just one
hint that it _may_ not be an hanken. Nothing more.
Cheers,
