I have a lot of genga that have cut/retaped 
registration holes. I think this is where most of 
the "retaping" and "fixing" occurs before 
production. They probably do this because they 
want to match up one genga with a previous genga 
that is slightly unaligned. 

I don't think it's the animator's priority to 
keep cels/genga/douga/backgrounds in mint 
condition as long as the final result is up to 
par.
