One of my multi-layer Hameln cels has Flute on
the top layer. The first thing I do when I get a
cel is assess it's current condition, including
checking what layers are stuck. Well I started to
lift the Flute layer from the bottom and it
wasn't stuck at all. What I didn't realize was
that the *RED* of her hair *WAS* stuck. . . When
it looked like the layer wasn't stuck at all, I
lifted the second half of it more quickly and. . .
(*cringe*)
There were quite a few paint chips missing after
that. It's a cel I never intend to sell (although
I have gotten a couple outlandish offers on it),
so I retouched the paint myself. You'd have to
know exactly what to look for to spot my fixes
from the front, so I prefer to keep the cel
anonymous, but I would tell any new owner if I
ever did sell it. (Of course!)
As a follow up. . . Incredibly, another cel from
that Flute layer sequence came up for sale on the
Anime Chaos site. I bought it and it's in perfect
shape. My original intent was to use it to
replace the damaged layer of the multilayer cel,
but the damaged layer is the end cel. After little
debate, I just stored the undamaged Flute layer
in another page. Call me indecisive. ^_^;
