Just heard back from the vet. We had Steve's x-
rays sent to a veterinary radiologist (it's
always best to get a second opinion from a
specialist, as a previous poster so rightly
pointed out), and his analysis is that the tumor
is probably either in the small intestine or
colon, and every bit as large as the first vet
had estimated. There are no visible nodules
anywhere else, though, which is a hopeful sign
that perhaps it hasn't metastasized.
Our furry little thing will be going in on
Wednesday morning for surgery, and we're keeping
our fingers crossed like crazy that A) they
don't find anything else and B) the tumor is
easily removed. Meanwhile, he's living on this
special high-fat, high-protien wet-food diet,
and he thinks he's the luckiest cat in the
world. Here's hoping all goes well and we have
to deal with his complaints when the gourmet
buffet is over after recovery...
I now return you to your regularly scheduled day. |
