I really don't think it's easy to pass a fan-made 
cel off as an original.  The cel community...I 
have to say...Pretty much has everyone covered in 
pointing out fakes, or scammers ^^!

But As far as chosing a fancel artist....

That's hard indeed ^.^!  I always thought Gwen 
from Darkside was the queen...Well...Still do(But 
she's retired ^^;)...And I was real hesitant in 
commissioning a new artists.  I looked at 
everyone's sample work...And none were "my taste" 
as far as style goes I guess you could 
say...But...I gave someone a chance with a huge 
amount of money for something big ^^;!

I commissioned Forky's anime for my huge-ass 
20x30" Evangelion fancel...And...If you've seen 
the thing...You'd agree...It's really f'in good 
^^;!  I also am finishing up a commission with 
Moonshine, and seeing her background work 
too...Must agree...She's the best at 
backgrounds...Even if they're seriously 
detailed.  I've only seen digital shots of the 
cel on the way to me now...But...I've gotta 
say...I'm highly impressed with the talent out 
there yet again *_*!  

I'm also impressed with places like Bake-Neko and 
Niisan looking through their work galleries...I 
think they'll be next on my list for a commission 
=)~!

But...I just say, go around to each fan cel 
artists gallery...Look for what you're wanting in 
their work, and e-mail them what you want ^^!  
Moonshine can attest to me wanting super 
complicated stuff for my fan cel, and she was 
just a doll about accommodating me *_*!
