I was not planning on posting it here, but since
it has gone this far, I thought I should give you
all a warning to be cautious about what you buy.
Now, most of you have already read my post from
Beta, but some of you haven't, which is why I am
posting it here.
Back in November, I purchased a cel from a
Mandarake auction. I contacted Mandarake prior to
bidding to verify that the cel was real. They
told me "Regarding your inquiry, the cel from
acutall animation, so it's an original cel." So,
I went ahead and purchased the cel. A month ago,
a very nice person who frequents this board (you
know who you are! Big hugs) contacted me and let
me know that she is very sure that they sold me a
fake cel.
To make a long story short(er), I contacted
Mandarake telling them that they sold me a fake
cel. They admitted that they sold me a fake cel
after consulting one of their "cel experts". They
asked me to return the cel for a full refund +
shipping reimbursement. 2 weeks ago, they
received the cel and said they will send me the
refund, but after 3 e-mails, they have seized all
communication and never sent me a refund.
I used my CC to pay with Paypal for 100% of the
payment. Since it has been longer than 30 days
that payment was sent, Paypal stepped out telling
me to contact my CC company. So, I contacted my
CC company and was credited for the full amount
and they are pressing charges against the company.
So, just an FYI since many of you use Paypal, make
sure you pay everything with your credit card
instead of using the funds in your account or make
sure if a problem occurs, you contact Paypal
WITHIN 30 days fromt he transaction. I was
fortunate enough to get my full money back from
using my CC, but I am especially relieved that I
didn't pay with the funds in my Paypal account.
otherwise, I would have lost my money.
I am very disappointed that a big company like
this would sell me a fake item and not even stand
up for their own actions. This has definitely
taken the fun out of the hobby.
