.. to Escaflowne. It's the cardinal rule and I 
only broke it once on a normal cel.

When I got the series from a friend, I watched 
the first episode and was so distracted by those 
horrible noses I completely missed most of the 
story. I hated them and couldn't figure out the 
logic behind a whole show of pinnocchio clones.

So I took the tape out (this is the olden days 
when people watched anime on things called VHS 
tapes), and put the series away. Months later, I 
kept hearing so many people praise it I decided 
to give it another go. After forcing myself 
through a couple episodes I actually forgot about 
the noses and got swept up in the plot, which I 
adored. ^_^

Anyway, my Escaflowne cel rule is pretty simple. 
NO PROFILES or other cels such that those huge 
noses are visible. In the Van and Hitomi cel I 
broke this rule, as on the Van ending credits 
cel, but those are really the only exceptions. 
This has kept me a happy Esca collector.

Btw, anyone else notice on the Eyecatch they 
shrunk Hitomi's nose down to a normal size? Why 
didn't they always do her nose like that. ><
