I do not doubt that some of those cels cost her 
$800+. we're not talking yahoo japan pricing 
here, she might have bought some of those from 
private collectors, not the kind with galleries 
and sale pages that you see all over the web. 
same with some cel dealers, when you see 
outrageous prices on cels oftentimes they didn't 
buy them wholesale, instead they negotiated it 
from personal collectors just like we do.
