But that's only my opinion. If they *DO* release
an okay SUBTITLED DVD copy of YuYu Hakusho, I
will be buying it - but only where needed to fill
in my very good condition, well-translated
fansubs. It isn't YuYu I'm not interested in
supporting - it's Funimation I would like to see
go to hell.
Where Inuyasha is concerned, I have full faith in
Viz's ability to bring over something better than
decent. HOWEVER. . . If they pull what they've
been doing with Ranma and release *three* *lousy*
*episodes* per DVD, I will NOT be immediately
buying anything I already have in fansub. I'll be
waiting out a collected volume. ~_~
Only part of it is the amount of money. (Yes,
it's spread over time, but that's still a lot of
money!!)
The other half of the problem is SPACE. Which
companies like Viz don't seem to realize is at a
premium in my house. ~_~ I do not have unlimited
room to keep 100 DVDs where 50 would suffice to
hold the material. Anime companies are going to
have to wake up and smell that particular blend
of coffee if they want to keep my business and
the business of others in the same position. ~_~
Because the other thing I'm not going to try to
do is buy all the DVDs as they come out and then
lose more money dumping the individual discs to
buy a later-released collected volume. My husband
and I already need to do that for Ranma, and the
question is looking to be "how much can we afford
to spend to gain back the space eaten up by
literally 150+ Ranma tapes".
The answer, when you're a new homeowner in a home
that needs work and a petowner who's even more
recently been through expensive geriatric care
for two pets, is NOT MUCH.
Sorry. Hotbutton topic for me. . . Rant mode
off. . . ^_^; But in any event, if anyone here
would like (or knows someone who would like) a
well cared for and *complete* set of Ranma tapes
for a good price, write me. (*laugh*)
