Has it ever happened to anyone where, upon
finding a cel at a dealer's site, the cel speaks
to you in a very deep way...but you don't have
the deep pockets to match? Where you want it
badly, but are in a bind as it is? ::sigh:: That
just happened to me...I'm not into "impulse
spending" very much, as all it does is create
problems later on, but often I find I love the
cels that "speak to me" more than I love someo f
my "wishlist" or "dream" cels...I love them
because they make me recall a scene or character,
but don't always evoke the same amount of
emotion. They speak to me in a different way, in
a nostalgic way, but don't always strike the same
chord.
Sorry, just felt like venting. I was sorting
through the pickings of the Usagi's House update,
looking through the Ayashi no Ceres section, not
thinking I would find anything worth it as
everything nice was already bought. But then I
saw ayashi-df24, a cel of Yuuhi (or, whom I am
assuming is Yuuhi, because of the eyes...I
haven't seen this entire anime yet...) with a gun
to his mouth, and it really just caught me. The
first thought for me was that it looked like he
was getting ready to put the gun in his mouth,
and it caught me, because I have been recently
depressed. Not suicidal, mind you, but I find
wierd, silly thoughts come to mind when one is
depressed that don't when one is sane. This cel
just spoke to me in many ways, the emotion, the
tears, the intense look of pain and betrayal...it
echoes feelings I've been having, and looking at
the picture makes me feel, well, less lonely.
Even if it is only a fictional character, it's
nice to have a reminder that I'm not the only one
this is happening to.
If I had the money, the price wouldn't matter.
This cel, when I look at it, means something to
me because of the feelings I've already invested
in it. But, alas, I suffer a fate common to this
hobby; empty wallet syndrome. And so now I'm just
staring and hoping that everyone will bypass that
cel for a few weeks until I've earned enough
money to buy it, but somehow I doubt it.
Here's to hoping.

P.S. - If you do happen to buy him, please give
him a good home, and please e-mail me as I would
love to have a bigger scan. |
