Hi all

I have an art book on Princes Mononoke (The Art 
of Princes Mononoke) and it seems that much of 
this film  (if not all of it) was generated / 
altered on computer. A whole section of the book 
is dedicated to CG, though I can’t read the text, 
it is clear that they used CG for the film (even 
development and colouring of the main 
characters). If this is the case then why are 
there any cels from this series at all? What is 
the point / process in producing the cels for a 
film completely generated on a computer ?

Any thoughts?
