Advice for making offers on cels... (Sat Apr 13 06:11:20 2002 )

Hiya,

I've never made an offer for a cel on someone's
website before yesterday. I'm really anxious to
hear SOMETHING from the prospective seller, who
has offered to sell items on his gallery, but
alas nothing yet :/
I even emailed a second time to raise my previous
offer after considering it further... so if I
express interest in out-offering others, then it
becomes like an auction. I don't know if it's
rude or misguided to think I can try and up my
offer. I truly offered what I think is fair and
realistic (for the seller and for my poor lil
bank account, which is suffering even as I type),
but you never know how bad others might want the
same cel... and even though I might have to eat
more instant noodles this month than I want to, I
might be willing to grit my teeth and spend
unbridled since it is a bit of a dream cel.
So whaddya think? Offer the absolute max, offer
something fair, or is it ok to offer a fair and
realistic price and ask that they'll get back to
you once if you are surpassed by fellow hunters
(honestly not just in order to beat the highest
bidder by a few dollars)?

Thanks ^_~
