Hi, I'm about to sell off a huge portion of my
cels, because I'm unemployed and I'm going back
to school full time... so I need some source of
income to just keep me adequately fed for the
next few months.
I never sold cels online before. I'm just about
1-2 days away from completing a web site with all
the cels I will be putting up for sale. Most of
the pics are already there, but now I need to
iron out my policies on making offers, shipping,
etc.
I've been looking at sale pages of other private
collectors. And I've been lurking on this board
for quite some time, and I'm getting a ton ideas
on how I could sell these cels. Maybe too many,
because I'm getting information overload.
Because I do need quite a bit of money up front,
I'm afraid I will have to take some cels
immediately to E-Bay. As soon, before those
jokers jack up the fees at the end of the month.
I haven't quite decided on specific questions I
should ask, and I'm very tired right now, so I'm
going to do this instead.
If you are a regular E-Bay CEL seller, please
respond to this post and offer me your personal
advice on the most important things to place on
my auction descriptions or to consider as the
seller. Or e-mail me URL's of your most
successful & hassle-free auctions (you can find
them on your feedback page, I think) so that I
could see how you wrote your auction descriptions
and policies.
Keep in mind, I never sold anything on E-Bay
before, so the more advice you provide me, the
better. I already decided that I will
automatically cancel bidders of feeback less than
2, but that's about it.
I would also appreciate advice on how to
successfully sell my cels without resorting to E-
Bay but still getting the money I need. I
suppose this means taking offers instead of
setting prices, but I would like to know what
kind of policy works for you the most.
In the end, it may simply come down to the
quality of the actual cel, but I'm sure there are
ways to advertise any cel more effectively.
Thank you.
PS - Although this may be subjective, I will be
allowing those who offered really useful advice a
sneak peak at all the cels I have for sale,
including the ones I plan to post on E-Bay, at
least 24 hours ahead of time. That way, they can
make any offers that might persuade me to avoid E-
Bay. So don't forget to include your e-mail
addresses in your replies. |
