Just use the graphical program you're most 
comforatble with and choose 'Acquire' to get a 
scan from your scanner.

I have a Umax scanner that I use with paint 
shop.  All the settings are set to auto.  I 
haven't had a problem with any of my sketches.  
However, if you want to make the lines stand out 
more, just do a simple (lite) sharpen on the 
image, especially if you shrink the original scan.
