I think the fact that Ghibli has put a lot of
restrictions on Disney is a *VERY* *GOOD* thing.
I personally watch a good bit of Disney and have
some pretty sure ideas about what Disney would
have done to say, Mononoke, had Ghibli not
insisted the movies be released without being
changed. All you have to see is what Disney has
done to the stories it *has* released. Anyone
ever read the original Pinocchio? It's a *LOT*
darker than the watered down, Disnified version
most people think of when they think of the
story. And it isn't an issue of when Pinocchio
was released either because it's the same with
the Little Mermaid. I won't even go into the
ridiculous "liberties" they took with my own
favorite fairy tale, Aladdin! >_<
Me? I winced and cringed when I heard that Disney
was buying anime to release since that "good must
always win", "no shades of grey", "nothing but
fluff", "don't make the audience actually think"
company has no business releasing any anime.
So take a good look at Disney before complaining
that you think Ghibli is being nothing more than
a pain in the @$$. I think Ghibli is protecting
not only it's creation, but all the fans too.
