Like I said, I really do think "to each their 
own" when it comes to things people like to watch 
in their free time. I guess Overfiend just seems 
like such a pointless piece of work, raunchy even 
beyond the usual steriotypes attached to hentai 
anime. Maybe if there were a plot. . . Or ultra-
superb artwork. . . Some other redeeming factor 
to it. But there isn't. (*shrug*)

The other thing is, a lot of people who like 
Tenshi ni Narumon (just to take your suggestion) 
*also* like other more serious things - and I 
assure you, I personally can imagine little that 
would be scarier than, say, being trapped in an 
elevator with a slavering Tenshi fan. ^_^;  But a 
lot of the people who like things like Overfiend, 
tend to look only for more of the same. This is 
completely from *MY* experience, mind you - your 
milage may vary. But from the people I've met, 
this is what I've found.

So I, at least, truly come from the middle of the 
road. On the one hand, what I saw is something I 
consider to be despicable and I wouldn't watch it 
again. On the other hand, I almost wish I had 
stuck around (ooo. . . bad choice of words. . . 
^_^;;) for the infamous "tentacle scene", since I 
hear so many people joking about it. (And no one 
doubt Cheryl! Overfiend IS possibly the single 
best known hentai anime!) I'm the type of person 
that gets eaten alive by curiosity - not to 
mention that it's a bit like a train wreck. It's 
horrible to see, but you almost HAVE to look 
since when are you ever going to see something 
like that again? ^_^;;
