Yep, there's nothing unusual about the licking 
kitty thing.  It's stress or compulsion.  Mine 
turned nine this year, and suddenly started going 
bald in spots... turns out he's just licking 
himself hairless in places.  Vet says that he 
COULD give us pills to reduce the stress (downers, 
basically), but if you've ever tried to pill a 
cat... well, let's just say that _I_ don't need 
that kind of stress, and that I'm perfectly happy 
with a balding cat.  *grin*

Besides, the notion of a kitty on prozac doesn't 
appeal to me at all.  He doesn't show any unusual 
behavior except the licking, so I figure all is 
well in his little world.  No point messing with 
it.
