It had elements of Irony (the fact that Shawnna
instigated the mad rush to Taro and then wailed
about the negative effects of the mad rush),
Exaggeration (all of which were provided by
Shawnna herself, since I basically just quoted her
numerous posts yesterday), and it had a cyclical
quality to it in that it started with Shawnna's
happy exclamation about the sale and ended with
her being happy again about Taro coming back up.
If you need me to explain it more clearly, I'll be
happy to. No need for you to feel left out,
Keisuke, just because you can't understand the
basics of humor.
Was the page immature? Hmmm. I suppose if you
call it immature, then you are calling Shawnna
immature, too. Since everything on there was
basically an abbreviated version of her antics
yesterday. Do you really want to make that kind
of statement?
Why did I make the page? Simple. Shawnna was
aggravating people. Do I think she doesn't have
the right to post whatever and whenever she wants?
HECK NO! More power to her. But if ANYONE
decides to use a public forum to air every thought
that comes into their head, then they DAMN WELL
better expect people to comment on it. I got over
a hundred hits on that page, and a few comments on
it via e-mail. Nothing negative. You know why?
Because it allowed people to view it however they
chose and provided a release. Anybody who doesn't
mind Shawnna ranting and raving a bit on the board
just laughed at the site (as it was intended, in
good-natured fun). Those who were annoyed by the
ranting took the site as a little jab and
privately enjoyed exercising their demons without
dealing with public ridule on this board. You
notice that nobody really got nasty publicly?
Well I tend to think that this site defused things
a bit.
I was advised to ignore the posts that I disagreed
with. I guess I could do that (even though there
were MANY). So shouldn't I also expect someone to
be able to ignore my ONE post in return? Seems
like a fair trade, no? Or is there a double
standard?
And Shawwna, please don't turn this into anything
huge and refuse to post anymore. Go right ahead.
But realize that it's a two-way street. If you
choose to wear your heart on your sleeve in a
public place, the public will react.
Peace.
