my pictures, and using the camera is smarter than
a hot flatbed scanned which warms the cel and
expose it to high light."
Actually, all cels go through some temperature and
humidity variation, and a scanner bed is hardly
the top end of it. (Ugh, a cel shop in Tokyo was
incredibly hot and humid, but the cels seemed ok)
Also, it isn't only the intensity of the light
that damages cel lines, it's mostly the length of
time a cel remains in ANY light (even low light)
that would damage it. Assuming the scanner is
decent enough (mine is one of the fastest
mid-range ones), the time the cel is on a scanner
bed is most likely not enough to permanently
damage it ..
