we~ell...  my gallery isn't exactly what you'd 
call aesthetically pleasing ^_^;;  but that's to 
be expected, because i'm a big proponent of 
usability over prettiness.  

so, here are some pet peeves of mine concerning 
galleries in general (i'm not pointing any 
fingers here!)

-load time.  make thumbnails!  it's not that 
difficult!  a thumbnail is *not* the full image 
constrained by the IMG tag to be smaller!  that 
defeats the entire purpose of thumbs, which is a 
nice quick load time.

-music.  >_<  midis are evil.  nothing sucks 
worse than trying to browse quietly at work, and 
having you boss come in just as the Evangelion 
theme blares unexpectedly from your speakers.  
have a heart -- don't do it!

-frames.  now, i've seen some *very* good use of 
frames in cel galleries.  (Kamidake no Miko's, 
for example)  but they're a no-no for beginners.  
too easy to mess up.


unfortunately that's just skimming the surface of 
my web peeves, but i think those are some of the 
most important.  

oh, and if people are needing help with HTML, i 
wouldn't mind the occassional question ^_~
