Wow...you seem to be paying quite a large amount
for Heero cels. I managed to get a nice, open-
eyed pan cel of Heero from episode three (right
after falling from the building) that's too big
to fit into regular celbooks for $66. I sold him
to another person because I needed money for that
exact same amount. I dunno where you're lookin',
but $500 for a regular Heero cel? I think you're
being jipped, my friend. You can see the cel I
was talking about at Mark's Cel Gallery, in the
webring. He's the one I sold it to ^_^
As for the fact that cels sold, as we were
saying, yes, of course there are a few willing to
pay that much. BTW, I was referring to the ones
that were sitting there, not the ones that
sold...I did notice some had sold. But I just got
an OP cel from another series for $20 (it's an OP
cel of Honou from Mosquiton...putting on me
webpage right now ^_^), and my Tennimon OP cel
was $65 (from Taro, to boot), and so it's obvious
that they're taking advantage of crazy GW fans
willing to pay those ridiculous prices. You can't
even see Heero's face, and I guess I've become
jaded, because as much as I love OP cels, they
don't seem extra special to me anymore. I
love 'em to death, but after seeing them
everywhere I don't feel like they're the talk of
the town. Certainly, cool to have, but not for
that price. Did YOU buy any of the OP cels? Go
back and look at the prices for their OP cels
they got earlier on, only about a month
ago...much cheaper. Yes, I know it's only of the
mechs, but they only range at about $300. They've
been inflating prices like mad recently. Just
because I don't collect exclusively from GW
doesn't mean I don't know a thing about the cels
^_^ With the release of GW in America, of course
cel prices are inevitably going to go up, but
watching cel prices jump this much in only a
year? Simply ludicrous. And sitting here and
saying it's average, and simply folding to those
cel prices, only prompts them to raise prices
more. Most likely those last few cels will sit
until GW prices soar more and someone decides
it's a good deal. Let's face it, GW is a plot-
less show made simply as a commercial beast (why
do you think the Gundams have so many different
stages and forms? For Bandai to make as many of
those nifty little models as possible. Go check
your tapes, folks...Bandai practically owns the
show)...and it seems to be fulfilling it's
purpose.
Misha-chan, who's been waiting for a good cel of
Duo to come along since forever. Try snagging a
cel of him at a decent price nowadays... |
