I always bid toward the end of an auction. 
Watching it for a while gives me an idea of the 
demand of the item and time to really think about 
just how much i am willing to pay. I also know 
that the chances of something selling for a 
higher price due to last minute bids is extremely 
high. Sure, it's your auction and do whatever you 
please, but I'm sure you're missing out on some 
higher bids by ending the auctions early.
