I'm primarily a Slayers collector, and care is 
what makes the difference, not just season. I've 
a few 1st season cels with perfect condition 
lines, and a couple 3rd season cels with hardly 
any lines at all (I'm working on making line 
correction layers for those).

Basically the longer a cel was on display, the 
more faded it'll be. I always find it sad to see 
damaged cels, especially from Slayers.
