Well now . . . (Thu Nov 16 20:35:16 2000 )

Everything costs money.

Once something is yours, it is no one else's
concern about how much it is worth to you. I
like this cel a lot, but I want that cel even
more and it costs me more, and someone is willing
to pay a considerable sum for the cel I currently
own... why should I not sell?

Economics survives on competition.

Competition makes prices go up . . . and sometimes
down.

It is bad business to sell at your cost all the
time if it is only to "be nice." Businesses
go into broke and close ALL THE TIME because
they cannot meet the competition.

But it all comes down to: what mine is mine,
what yours is yours. Keep your hands off mine
and I will give you the same consideration.

I am close to selling ALL of my cels for good
because I no longer have the time (or money) to
spend on the hobby... I am sad to come to this
realization, but there are so many good things in
life, I will not let my world end because I need
to move from one hobby. I have collected these
cels, some VERY rare, over the last 4 or 5
years...

Now I ask - why on earth should I sell at only
what they cost me? THAT thought seems
ridiculas... and again, if a price is too high
for you, then don't buy. Maybe someone else will
buy. Maybe the price will go down. Only supply
and demand will show the truth in time. If I
love a cel so much, and KNOW it is rare, and
went through a lot of trouble to acquire it,
if the time comes to sell it then shouldn't I ask
what I think it is worth to me? If no one wants
it for what I think it is worth, then it goes
nowhere, and I still get something out of it (to
keep a beautiful cel)...

Oh, well, 'tis my point of view here. I was going
to leave the message "anonymous," but I suppose
my view on "cel politics" doesn't really matter
a whole lot in the overall scheme of things
... and people who know me would probably
guess who wrote this anyway. (laugh)
