Actually, check out this one (only one of his/
her auctions I actually looked at before turning
away from these "production cel" auctions)...
#1113243214
The title calls it a "rare fatal fury terry
bogard anime prod. cel"...
And then the description continues to describe
this as a rare cel "created for the video
packaging" (kinda making it sound like a hanken
cel, hmm?)... only in the second paragraph does
the seller mention that it is a numbered cel
(making it a limited edition, although he/she
never uses that term)... and the seller never
corrects the title statement that this is a
"production cel"...
EXTREMELY misleading phrasing... and I'd bet good
money that the seller is intending it to be at
least a LITTLE misleading for less-experienced
bidders. I'm not implying that the seller is an
"evil person" or anything... it's just that we
all know how little sericels / limited editions
are worth (generally, although some Disney cels
are the exception, let's not get into a
money-value argument) compared to original
production cels (or esp. hanken cels)... and if
the inexperienced bidder doesn't read closely
enough to see the "numbered up to 5000" line or
doesn't know the differences between lim. ed. and
production cels, then whose fault is it? (And
some packaging for production cels that were
marketed, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles production cels, can look a lot like the
Chroma-cel packaging...)
