I have been watching anime since... oh 1979 and the only
time I ever wanted to dress up like an anime character was
back when I was a kid and I wanted to be Hikaru from 
Macross for Halloween. Now I don't understand the 
facination with cosplay at all. It is weird to me that it
is the biggest part of Anime Expo BUT I do not frown on 
it. If you want to do it go for it but I just don't understand it. You would be hard pressed to get me to dress
up like that but I have crazy anime stuff all throught my room so go fig. 

You will NOT feel like a goof at all. Mad people dress up
for Anime Expo. It is advertised as the biggest part of the
show. The Anime Expo web page says "Certainly and
unquestionably, the biggest and brightest event of the
convention is the Anime ExpoTM 2000 Masquerade Contest"


If I can arrage to share a room with someone then I will
see you there :)
