I'm not sure, but I don't think Toriyama worked on the anime,
just the manga. Sorta like how Rumiko Takahashi really had
nothing to do with the anime versions of her works besides
having created the original characters and situations. I 
could be wrong, though....watching Dragonball and DBZ I 
do notice that many of the scenes in the anime look identical
to frames of the manga...so
