It could be very well be the fanboy types with money that don't know better than to look for dealer sites.

I've managed to get great deals on the rare cels that I have--paid less than $100 for any single cel, but the
collection could easily be worth more than twice what I paid.  It's all a matter of timing, location, and connections.
