Dear Forum,
Hi, again. I have a question. I just got in a
Utena cel with a correction layer which was VERY
poorly done by the animator 8(. The correction
layer does NOT line up with the layer it was
trying to correct since there were 2 characters on
the cel, so I either get a blurry Utena or a
blurry Anthy =6. The layers were not stuck, so I
decided to use the last of my cel bags to tape the
layers as best I can together on the outside of
the cel bags. Now, in order to line up the cels
in the cel bags together, I had to REMOVE the peg
holes that were TAPED onto the correction layer
(which was shorter than the normal cel, so a
strip of peg holes were taped onto the cel by the
studio), so the correction cel layer could be put
into the bag the same way the other layers were
put into the other bags (to get my flipping
effect).
Okay, the question finally. I have other cels
that have this strip of peg holes that are just
TAPED onto a cel =6. Is it a wise idea to remove
them or to leave it as it is? I'm asking because
the taped on strip does make the cel look a bit
uglier when you look at it in a cel book =6, but
on the other hand the peg holes are a part of the
production process. I'm very confused! 8( Any
help, insight, or advice would be appreciated.
As for the peg hole strip I removed from the
correction layer, I still saved it and put it in
a bag along with one of the 3 mouths I got for the
cel (which by the way all look EXACTLY the same
except for maybe a millimeter difference from
sequence number 1 to 3!).
Sincerely,
