Sure, I think that's why most people do it...It just 
seems that sometimes folks get a bit too possessive-
like not being able to take pictures in a museum.  
But if you see one of your images on another person's site
when they haven't asked permission or given credit, etc,
-so that they are deliberately leading people to believe 
that the image is thiers and not the rightful owners'-
I do think you have a right to be upset.  And you should
have a legal right, and probably do if you can prove the 
image is yours and the individual does NOT have your 
consent to use the image- but I don't know absolutely on
that.  Went to school for biology, not law.  ;)
