Why?

Why do you collect anime cels?

I have a few reasons and I feel like sharing.
Plus it's been pretty boring on the forum lately ;)

And since I cannot pose a question without first 
answering it myself here goes....


I collect cels because I can appreciate the characters 
and in many instances identify and empathize with them
and the situations that they are in.
And the stories that they play a part of are very
dear to me.  
And sometimes if you are very lucky you can find
that special cel from that special scene. ^_^

But that doesn't explain why I have bought cels of 
characters from shows that I have never seen before.

There is also the esthetic quality.  I love how some 
characters look.  For example my B'tX cel of Karen.
I have not seen the show yet but..  I
love the design, expression, composition and colors.

And of course, as we all know, there is the fact 
that cels are one of a kind pieces of art used in 
the actual production of the show.

Most times it is a combination of these reasons.

So what are your reasons?  Maybe they are different 
from mine and I'd like to hear them.

And why is it so darn addictive?
That I do not know.
