It is bad when people steal your cel images for profit
(trying to sell something they don't own), or try to claim
that they own the cel.
But as for other images that I scan and edit, personally,
I don't really care if other people use them or not. As long
as they don't copy the same exact page format, it's okay.
Since I don't own the image in the first place, my belief is:
Who am I to say who can use the image? It is nice when other
people do give you credit for scanning/editing images, but I
know most people don't bother to ask permission. If I see an
image that I created appear on other pages, I feel proud,
since they must have visited my page, and like the quality of
the graphics editing that I do. As long as it is non-profit
use, I have no problem.
Sometimes, however, I do try to "brand" images, making it
difficult for people to use, by overlaying text or such that
is difficult to remove. People are still free to use the image,
but often the overlayed text soemtimes discourages them.
